I need be at school by 10.30 am. Oops. No power!
20 minutes… Fetched pails of water.
Nearly 10.30..
Bathed..
Dressed..
On my way..
“I’m here”.
“Be there in a few”.
When Mommy came, she’s followed by my sister (Jas) and our cousins(Eon and Nina). God is always good to me. Though I missed my time with them the night before, I was given a day after it.
I checked her students’ papers. The kids played.
Lunch time came and we ate happily(except my little sister, she’s scolded by Mommy).
After I finished checking the papers, I played with the kids. I carried my little sister around while our cousins chased after us. We rode the wheelchairs. We laughed at the stupid kittens(with the door closed, they ran to it banging their heads hard).
We were enjoying our time when Mommy said it’s time to go. I can see the we-don’t-want-to-go-yet look in their faces, especially Jas.
“Mommy, gusto kong isama si Ate.”
It moved me. For a short time, we’ve been close to each other. We’re both stubborn in our own ways.
“Kiss mo na lang si Ate.”
It was all she could say. Judging by Mommy’s look, she was sad too and happy at the same time. Knowing that me and the kids created a bond among us.
Happier and more contented, I walked towards home with the thought of spending more time with them sooner or later.
Who said being adopted is a bad thing(even if it is self-proclaimed). I’m telling you that it’s one of the awesome stuffs in this whole wide world.
